For the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville, I was responsible for creating educational displays and tutorials.
For our student workers, I created a Student Worker Quiz (through Captivate) and a Student Worker Tutorial (with PowerPoint) to demonstrate best practices in a library.
To address students' need for instruction on using the library homepage I created several video tutorials using Captivate. An example of this is: PittCat+ Basic Search (YouTube). Other tutorials are on using the databases and related topics, and can be find on the UPT Haskell YouTube channel.
I created this video, very much on the fly, for my College 101 students. They were fairly consistently making the same mistakes with their citations.
Subject Guides
I currently have 53 live Subject Guides for ILCC, and more hidden. These were largely created in the first year I was at Iowa Lakes Community College.
Staff Training
Each semester another crop of students workers descent upon the library, well, sort of. But we must train these students. Some of our student workers may have special needs, and for this reason, I created an ADA-compliant group "quiz".
Group Scavenger Hunts
Training can include fun activities and most student workers enjoy a good, old scavenger hunt (which we completed in groups).
Pathfinder for education
I created a Pathfinder for the field of education. You can access it here:Education Pathfinder.
Certified Test administrator for Pearson testing lab
As part of my GA position I was certified as a test administrator. I regularly ran the testing computer lab. This required me to not just administer the tests, but to also trouble-shoot any problems that can, and often did, arise.
