In order to create the very best catalog for ILCC, I sought out as many resources as possible. And I developed my own skills in website creation. I completed an Introduction to Web Development course (CIS 204). This added to my own knowledge through previous projects and some free online courses (such as W3 school). Please peruse my final project if you'd like to see more.
Web Mapping
As a Graduate student, I used Google Docs to create a web map for the College of Education and Human Services. This map duplicated the format created by Dr. Heeter and her GA. Between my maps and Dr. Heeter's maps, the entirety of the COEHS webpages have been mapped (with the exception of the large number of downloads).
I have also updated numerous pages for the COEHS. For this, I edited each page for everything from mechanical errors to having the correct information. A few of the changes I made were that I added checklists and contact information to multiple pages, and color maps to the University Supervisor Resources Page. I have also updated the materials for the D2L (Desire to Learn) pages, the primary avenue of study for their online students.
Web editing
I regularly updated and edited the Field Services webpages. I tended to make quick links at the top of any page (in some form of a check list) for easier viewing. Students have a tendency to miss deadlines so I wanted to make it as simple as possible for them. This might require a chart, anchors, or multiple links to other pages.
Web page index
This is a screen shot of an index I made for one faculty member. It is color-coded to allow for easier use and it is hyperlinked to each of the individual webpages in question. It's purpose is to class each webpage in terms of what will require the most frequent updates.
